Description

International regulations require that you must do Ship Security Officer Training if you are a seafarer who has been, or has the prospect of being, appointed as the Ship Security Officer on a merchant vessel trading internationally.

Some private maritime security companies providing security for ships transiting high risk areas, also require their team leaders to successfully complete the Ship Security Officer (SSO) course.
